Terms of Service

Clear terms, no guesswork.

The simple ground rules that help keep Migo useful, fair, and safe for customers and Amigos.

Terms of Service

Draft placeholder: These terms are a starting point for Migo's legal review. Replace bracketed details and have qualified counsel approve this document before launch.

Welcome to Migo. These Terms of Service ("Terms") explain the rules for using the Migo mobile application, website, and related services (collectively, the "Platform"). By creating an account or using the Platform, you agree to these Terms.

1. About Migo

Migo is a local service marketplace that helps people request everyday services and connect with independent service providers ("Amigos"). Migo provides the technology that enables these connections; unless we clearly state otherwise, Migo does not directly perform the services requested through the Platform.

2. Who may use the Platform

You may use Migo only if you:

  • are at least 18 years old and able to enter into a binding agreement;
  • provide accurate and current account information; and
  • comply with these Terms and all applicable laws.

You are responsible for activity under your account and for keeping your login details secure. Tell us promptly if you believe your account has been accessed without permission.

3. Requesting and providing services

Customers must describe each request accurately, disclose relevant risks, and provide a safe environment for the Amigo completing the task. Amigos must only accept work they are qualified and equipped to perform, arrive as agreed, and complete services with reasonable care.

Certain requests may be restricted or prohibited. These include unlawful activities, dangerous work, regulated professional services without the required credentials, and requests involving prohibited goods.

4. Bookings, prices, and payment

Prices, platform fees, and any applicable charges will be shown before a booking is confirmed whenever practicable. By confirming a booking, you authorize Migo and its payment partners to collect the displayed amount using your chosen payment method.

Additional costs should be agreed through the Platform before they are incurred. Payment processing may be subject to separate terms from our payment partners.

5. Cancellations, refunds, and disputes

Cancellation fees may apply depending on when a booking is cancelled and whether an Amigo has already begun travelling or working. Refund eligibility is assessed based on the circumstances of the booking, the evidence available, and Migo's current cancellation and refund policy.

If something goes wrong, contact us as soon as possible and include the booking details and any helpful photos, messages, or receipts. We may review Platform records when helping resolve a dispute.

6. Safety and respectful conduct

Everyone using Migo must act honestly, safely, and respectfully. Harassment, discrimination, threats, fraud, property damage, and attempts to move a booking off-platform to avoid fees are not allowed.

In an emergency, contact the appropriate local emergency service first. Migo is not an emergency response service.

7. Reviews and user content

You may submit reviews, photos, messages, and other content through the Platform. You retain ownership of your content, but give Migo permission to host, reproduce, and display it as needed to operate, secure, and improve the Platform.

Do not submit content that is unlawful, misleading, abusive, infringes another person's rights, or reveals private information without permission. We may remove content that violates these Terms.

8. Platform ownership

The Platform, including its software, branding, design, and original content, belongs to Migo or its licensors. You may use it only for its intended purpose. You may not copy, sell, reverse engineer, disrupt, scrape, or misuse any part of the Platform except where the law expressly permits it.

9. Account suspension or closure

You may stop using Migo at any time. We may restrict, suspend, or close an account when reasonably necessary to protect users, investigate suspected misconduct, comply with legal obligations, or enforce these Terms.

Where appropriate, we will provide notice and an opportunity to contact support. Some provisions of these Terms continue to apply after an account is closed.

10. Disclaimers and liability

Migo works to keep the Platform reliable and the community trustworthy, but we cannot guarantee that the Platform will always be available, error-free, or suitable for every purpose. Experiences with independent users and Amigos may vary.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Migo is not responsible for indirect, incidental, or consequential losses arising from use of the Platform. Nothing in these Terms excludes rights or responsibilities that cannot legally be excluded.

11. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms as Migo evolves. If a change materially affects your rights, we will provide reasonable notice through the Platform or another appropriate channel. Continued use after the updated Terms take effect means you accept them.
